As a former Olympic Athlete and 7th Dan Black Belt, Kathy Hook formed the club in 1996 after a hugely successful competition career to share her skills and experiences. The club has since grown and has enjoyed many great achievements, including having built a team of highly qualified instructors, being awarded CLUBMARK recognition in 2014 and becoming a GB Talent Club in 2016. However, we believe the biggest club accomplishment to date has been to produce national and international champions, witnessing their growth in their journey has been immensely rewarding to us as a club, as instructors, and as sports practitioners.

Ultimate Taekwondo Club is one of the UK’s most successful Taekwondo Clubs.  Former Olympic Athlete and 7th Dan Black Belt Kathy Hook formed the Club in 1996 after a hugely successful competition career and has enjoyed many great achievements as a coach within Ultimate Taekwondo over the years.

The club was given CLUBMARK recognition in 2014 and become a GB Talent Club in 2016.

Ultimate Taekwondo started in church halls and leisure centres in the area but is now proud to have its own headquarters ‘The Den’ in Armthorpe, Doncaster.   The Den is a fully matted, fit for purpose full-time training facility.  We have a full range of classes structured to suit everybody.  Whatever your needs we have a class for you.   We have specific ‘TOTS’ classes for 3-6 years old, children’s sessions, family classes, traditional taekwondo sessions and sports taekwondo. Whether you want to attend once a week to get fit or you want to become a world-class athlete we can help.  We tailor training sessions to suit the needs of the students and ensure they achieve their own goals.

Ultimate Taekwondo has helped many students achieve Black Belt status and enforces that with commitment, hard work and dedication you can achieve your goals.  This mindset from coaches and students has helped produce World and European medalists, British Champions and winners of events nationally and internationally.

Ultimate Taekwondo has other branches based in Adwick and Sprotbrough in Doncaster and Shiregreen and Arbourthorne in Sheffield.

So, why not come and have a go? Taekwondo can help improve your confidence, fitness, flexibility and most importantly it’s fun and enjoyable. Whether you are an experienced martial artist or new to the sport, you are always welcome at Ultimate Taekwondo.

Taekwondo is a diverse and exciting sport and has two main aspects to it The Traditional Martial Art and the Olympic Sports Taekwondo side.

Traditional Taekwondo covers the whole Martial Art developed in ancient Korea.  It consists of learning the core basics of the art.  Students practice kicking, striking and punching as well as the discipline and philosophy of the Art.   Traditional Taekwondo is the route to becoming a Black Belt. In traditional lessons, patterns will be learnt and practised to achieve standards for Gradings.   Self-defence, knife defence and breaking boards will also be taught to students.    There is also an opportunity for students to take part in pattern competitions.

Sports Taekwondo is the faster-paced more dynamic side, where students take part in competitions.  Dedication and hard work is key to achieving at the highest level but competition sparring is open to everyone as every champion was once a beginner!

At Ultimate Taekwondo we have coaches that specialise in both the traditional and the Sports side of Taekwondo.   We can help you achieve whatever you want to achieve.

But Taekwondo is much more!  It promotes a healthy lifestyle, improved fitness, increased confidence, achieving personal goals and at Ultimate Taekwondo we are a big Taekwondo family.  Everybody is welcome at this successful and friendly Club.
